Celebrations and Festivals: sailing on Inlay lake

Hundreds of Shan people move, with the strength of their legs, a string of boats, followed by a bigger one: on it, a golden pavilion shelters a worshipped statue of Budha.

During the festival, the statue moves in a pilgrimage from one village to the other on the lake, and in the main city of Nyaung Shwe, onshore.
